For a long time, Chai has documented queer spaces and environments, especially the Ballroom scene in Europe. Through analogue snapshots, Chai captures the feeling of Ballroom’s culture and expression. Photos from other queer spaces, such as the Oslo-based club concept Sweetcheeks, give an insight into the proximity and sense of community that can arise on the dance floor”.

The Queer Gaze part II, the second part of this year’s major queer exhibition at KODE Kunstmuseer og komponisthjem in Bergen, Norway, is a part of the Queer Cultural Year celebrations in Norway. The Queer Cultural Year (2022) celebrates the 50. anniversary of the decriminalization of male homosexuality in Norway. The Queer Gaze part II, curated by Mathias Skaset and Bjørn Hatterud, presents queer artworks by twelve contemporary artists.
